The notorious algae blooms and red tide that happen yearly are caused from many different factors:
“Combine the naturally occurring red tide event with the ever-increasing problem of human-made algae blooms caused by pollution, and you have the catastrophic events that have been harming wildlife and coastal communities in Florida all summer.” – oceanconservancy
However, our local waterways and estuaries are one of the least effected areas in Florida!
You see stronger effects of this in Southeast Florida ( Stuart and Jupiter waterways are the most severe) and in Southwest Florida ( Tampa and Clearwater).
